Woman in 70s remains in hospital after fatal Brampton crash

Emergency services were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash involving a cement lorry and a car in Buxton Road, Brampton, at 12.10pm on Monday. The driver of the car, a woman in her 40s, died at the scene,[1] while a woman in her 70s suffered serious injuries. She is still in hospital.

The driver of the cement lorry, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has been released under investigation. The road was closed while investigations were carried out and reopened overnight.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or has any dashcam footage or information that could help the investigation.
