A96 crash near Huntly results in death of 78-year-old man
A pensioner has died after a crash between a lorry and a car on a busy stretch of road. A 78-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident on the A96 near Huntly at around 11am today (Wednesday, April 23).

The crash involved a black Skoda Camiq and a white Iveco box van. There were no other reported injuries.
The road is still closed with diversions in place. Sergeant Pete Henderson said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man that has died and the other driver involved in this incident. "Thanks to the members of the public that stopped to provide assistance and other road users for their patience.
"Our investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing and I would urge anyone with information, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area, to get in touch."
