Air ambulance attends M40 crash after police close road
The incident took place this morning (Friday, April 11) and involved two cars on the motorway. Having collided, the two cars were attended to by the emergency services, including Warwickshire Police. Officers closed the M40 between J13 Bishops Tachbrook and J14 Barford following the serious incident.
The scene of the M40 crash on Friday. (Image: Emma JG) An air ambulance was also seen landing close to the site as queues of drivers were held on the motorway close to Banbury. Eyewitness Emma was waiting on the road for the RAC after her battery went flat.
She said: "I heard the thud whilst waiting for RAC but didn't realise what had happened until Highways ran towards it. "They'd seen it on the way to getting to me." Unlock unlimited local news.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: "We're currently at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on the northbound stretch of the M40 between junction 13 (Bishops Tachbrook) and junction 14 (Leamington).
"The road is expected to be closed for at least the next few hours, so please avoid the area and follow diversions where possible."
At the time of writing, the road remains closed with delays of over two hours.
