Couple seriously hurt in horror M6 crash on way back from Manchester Airport
A couple have been left with multiple broken bones after a horror crash on the M6 in Cheshire, their family say. The couple, both 63, were on their way back from Manchester Airport in the early hours of Tuesday morning when a lorry collided with them on the northbound stretch of the motorway. They then hit the central reservation before being struck by a second vehicle, it is claimed.
Emergency services raced to the scene and the pair were rushed to hospital. A police investigation is now underway. The couple's son has come forward to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with footage of the crash that may help officers, to contact police.
The woman had just landed at the airport after visiting a friend in Malta and her husband had driven from their home in Kirkham, Lancashire, to pick her up, reports the Manchester Evening News.[1]
