Fladbury crash A44: two men arrested for dangerous driving
A driver and passenger were taken to hospital following a crash on the A44 Evesham Road in Fladbury near Pershore on Thursday night (April 3). Police, the fire service and the ambulance service attended the incident which resulted in a car leaving the road and flipping onto its roof shortly after 11pm. A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said on Friday: "Following a report of a car driving dangerously on the A44 Evesham Road in Fladbury, Pershore yesterday evening, officers located the vehicle which failed to stop when instructed to.
"The car left the road when attempting to leave the area and ended up on its roof. "Two men, 40 and 30, where arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop when directed to do so and theft of a motor vehicle." "On arrival, crews found two men who were both treated for injuries not thought to be serious and conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital. "There were no further patients at the scene requiring medical attention." A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Evesham Fire Station was called at 11.15pm to the incident along with the service drone from Ledbury to a small vehicle on fire on the A44 Evesham Road in Fladbury, Pershore.
A fire service spokesperson said: "One vehicle was on its roof after an RTC but no persons were trapped. A small fire in the engine compartment had been extinguished by police before the arrival of the fire service. "One hosereel was used to dampen down.
"The nearby fields were searched for absconded casualties using the drone and a thermal imaging camera but no persons were found.
"Two casualties were handed over to the care of the ambulance service.
"The incident was marked as pending closure at 1.12am."
