Horror footage has shown the moment a "dangerous" motorist slammed into oncoming cars[1] when he was driving on the wrong side.
The shocking video shows the red Ford Transit minibus careening around a corner on a clear stretch of road on the A30 in Purse Caundle, Somerset[2]. The large vehicle smashed into the red Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Polo following behind. The smaller vehicle ahead was sent flying by the collision, while the other car was also seriously damaged.
A man aged in his 60s was taken to hospital by air ambulance while two teenagers were also seriously hurt in the accident in September 2023.

In the wake of the crash, Benjamin Charles Foster, 35, yesterday pleaded guilty at Bournemouth Crown Court to two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He also admitted charges of driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance.

Police Constable Adam Carr, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: "Foster's dangerous driving and failure to have a valid licence and insurance showed utter contempt for both the law and the victims who sustained serious injuries due his reckless actions.

"Through our enquiries, we were able to identify Foster as the driver responsible for this collision and ensure he was brought to court to face the consequences of his actions.
"We continue to urge motorists to make sure they have a valid licence and insurance to ensure they can drive legally on Dorset roads."
Foster was crossing into a filter lane as if to turn right before continuing onward towards the oncoming traffic and colliding head on with the red Toyota Yaris.

A road closure was put in place to enable emergency services to safely deal with the incident.
Officers conducted a thorough investigation into the incident and following enquiries, Foster was arrested and subsequently charged in relation to the incident.
An investigation by officers of the Roads Policing Team has led to the conviction of a man responsible for a serious injury collision near Sherborne.
