Inverness city centre road reopens after A82 smash involving lorry and railway bridge, Traffic Scotland says

A lorry has hit the railway bridge at Shore Street in Inverness.

Part of the A82 in Inverness closed after a lorry struck a railway bridge[1] has now fully reopened, Traffic Scotland[2] has confirmed. There were no reports of anyone injured in the collision which was reported to police at around 4.25pm.

The incident forced the closure of the A82 south towards the A9 between Shore Street roundabout and the Rose Street roundabout.

All lanes now running Southbound following the earlier collision Traffic in the area remains heavy however should ease off shortly @NWTrunkRoads[4]

Drivers were asked by Police Scotland to avoid the area and AA Scotland reported large tailbacks of traffic in the area. A Traffic Scotland spokesman said: "Traffic remains heavy, but should ease off shortly."
