Lincolnshire man dies after crash on A16 which shut road for hours
A man has died following a crash involving a lorry and a car, Lincolnshire Police have confirmed. A man in his 50s and from Holbeach, has died following a collision on the A16. The crash involved a lorry and a white Citroen Berlingo.
The A16 closed following the serious collision between Algarkirk and Sutterton Dowdyke, close to Church Lane. It happened just before 1pm Easter Sunday (April 20). Police arrived at the scene and warned drivers at the time that they were going to be there until at least until the early hours of today (Monday) while they carried out investigations.
Drivers were told to avoid the area and the A16 was reopened shortly before midnight.
In an update released by Lincolnshire Police today (Monday), they said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, and has not yet spoken to officers, to get in touch with our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU)."
