Lorry catches fire on road in north Devon

Firefighters have extinguished a large lorry fire in north Devon. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire broke out at about 08:20 BST on the A361 North Devon Link Road at the Landkey roundabout near Barnstaple. Two crews from Barnstaple and South Milton fire stations were in attendance, as well as a water pump, firefighters said.

Crews were working to prevent fuel from leaking on to the road and drivers were urged to avoid the area[1]. Devon and Cornwall Police said road closures were in place and there were no reports of any injuries. Follow BBC Devon on X, Facebook and Instagram.
