M40 driver jumped out of van’s window and fled after killing ‘beloved’ mother

A banned van driver from the Black Country who killed a 'beloved mother' on a Midlands motorway and then fled the scene has been put behind bars. Akashdeep Singh had been driving a Peugeot Boxer van on the M40 between junction 11 for Banbury and junction 12 for Gaydon on Saturday, September 28 last year. There had been an earlier collision on that stretch of the motorway and vehicles had slowed down as a consequence.

But Singh, despite plenty of warning time, did not and crashed into the back of a Hyundai Tucson at around 7.10pm.
