Motorists are being warned of three miles of congestion due to a car fire on the M6. Two lanes are closed on the northbound motorway from Junction 32 (Broughton) to Junction 33 (Garstang). It's due a car fire and National Highways North West say there's delays of an hour or more above usual journey times.
The car fire and lane closures are as you approach Junction 33. The incident is on top of busy Bank Holiday Monday (21 April) traffic on the M6 southbound. Traffic England is showing long queues on the M6 southbound from Junction 31 (Samlesbury) all the way back to Junction 36 for the Lake District.
There's also delays on the M55 eastbound where it meets the M6 at the Broughton interchange as drivers head back from Blackpool.
