Malpas Road commutes interrupted due to ‘faulty’ traffic lights
Reports of congestion were first mentioned around 8:30am on Malpas Road by Charlie's Fish and Chip Shop. Long queues of traffic were reported along the road. Many people were quick to comment also aware of the fault. Danielle Sullivan said: "I called 101 this morning to let them know and without even asking me the location... 'the council are aware.'" Beverly Lynn said: "Just passed all the traffic up Malpas Road and the motorway."
Huge lines of traffic were reported on Malpas Road due to 'faulty lights' (Image: NQ) Workers were seen carrying out work on the lights around 2pm today when the Argus was a t the scene. A worker on site said: "The lights have been out since the beginning of the week because of a bad crash in the area." Heavy delays were also experienced this morning due to issues with the Severn Bridges.
Including the closure of the M48 Bridge and works being carried out on The Prince of Wales Bridge.
Traffic flow has since returned to normal, and the lights are operating again.
