A female biker is in hospital after a crash in Leyland. Lancashire Police closed Lancaster Lane near to the junction with the A49 (Wigan Road). The crash took place between a Peugeot Boxer van and a motorbike around 1.04pm on Sunday (13 April) close to the Woodsman pub.

A woman in her 50s, the rider of the motorbike, was taken to hospital with multiple fractures. A police spokesperson said: "Thankfully, her injuries are not thought to be life threatening, and she is expected to make a full recovery." No arrests were made and the road re-opened during Sunday afternoon.
