A woman has told of the moment her brother was 'catapulted' from his motorbike and 'left for dead' following a 'hit and run' on the M60[1].
Louise Thomas said her brother Mark was the motorway and travelling along the junction four slip road for Cheadle[2] and the A34 last Wednesday (April 2) when he was knocked off his bike by a driver who had 'cut in behind him'.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News with Mark's permission, Louise said: "He has been riding bikes for 40 years. He's very safe and good and confident rider.
I'd pass him in my lorry on the M62[4] and he'd give me a wave.
"I got a call at 10pm from my dad last Wednesday to let me know he was in hospital and had been knocked off his bike. He was coming round the Cheadle slip road which is a long, sweeping bend.
"A car has then cut in behind him, to the side, and hit him. He was sent catapulting into the air and landed on another car.
They [the driver] left him for dead in the middle of the road injured and drove off.

"Luckily for him two cars stopped and helped him. He's got a broken pelvis and has had an eight-hour operation on it, a broken knee cap needing a skin graft and a broken arm.
"And even more luckily a doctor who had finished his shift pulled over to see to him. Thank god for that doctor... just imagine my brother lying there."
The North West Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the incident shortly after 6pm following reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorbike.
Mark, in his 50s, was taken to Salford[5] Royal Hospital. Fire crews also raced to the scene.

Louise has taken to social media in a bid track down witnesses. She said she fears dashcam footage may now have been overwritten.
She is urging anyone with information to contact police.
Mark, who lives in Scarborough but is originally from Swinton[6], Salford, reportedly makes the journey on the M60 around once a week as part of his job.
Louise added: "The drivers who stopped wouldn't have got the registration plate of the car because they were checking he was okay. It will have been a terrible shock for the person the landed on.
"He is in so much pain. His life is on hold for the next year at least.
Someone has taken the decision out of his hands and he says he won't be risking putting his family through this again."
A spokesperson for the North West Air Ambulance Service (NWAS) said: "An ambulance crew responded to reported RTC involving a motorcyclist following a 999 call at 18.08. A man in his 50s was taken to hospital for treatment for major trauma."
Greater Manchester Police[7] have been approached for comment.
Anyone with information can be passed on to GMP by calling 101 or reporting it using LiveChat online. Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
