Two taken to hospital after air ambulance called to A12 crash

Two people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash on the A12 in east Suffolk. Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to the major route near Stratford St Andrew at about 7.50am on Thursday. A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the East Anglian Air Ambulance, two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene[1].

They confirmed that two people were taken to Ipswich Hospital by land ambulance for further treatment.

The A12 was closed in both directions[2] for several hours while emergency services attended the crash that involved a car and a van.

It has since reopened, Suffolk police has confirmed.
