A WOMAN has died in a tragic crash between an Audi and a van as three men were rushed to hospital. Mercy crews[1] raced to the A98 near Craigmaud, Aberdeenshire, after the alarm was raised around 5pm yesterday. Cops[2] say the smash involved an Audi Q5 car and a Ford Transit van.

A 61-year-old woman, the driver of the Audi, was pronounced dead at the scene. The three male occupants of the van were all rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.[3][4] The road was closed for approximately ten hours to allow collision investigators to examine the scene and reopened at around 1am.

"Our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing and I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was travelling on the A98 around the time of the crash, especially if they have dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2664 of 1 April, 2025.
