Woman who died at scene of Aberdeenshire crash named
An Audi Q5 car and a Ford Transit van collided at around 5pm on April 1 on the A98 near Craigmaud. Emergency services pronounced the driver of the Audi dead at the scene. The 61-year-old female driver of the Audi has now been named as Maureen Davidson from Mintlaw by the police.
Her family have asked for privacy. The three male occupants of the van were all taken to Aberdeen[2] Royal Infirmary for treatment. The road was closed for approximately ten hours to allow officers to carry out their investigations into the incident.
Sergeant Dave Cooper said: "Our thoughts are with Maureen's family during this incredibly difficult time. "Our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing, and I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was travelling on the A98 around the time of the crash, especially if they have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation."
