Bikers follow funeral cortege of Chris Brown from South Shields
Chris Brown, from South Shields and a member of the Hells Angels, suffered serious injuries after a crash with a Mercedes Sprinter van at 4.30pm on Stephenson Street in Wallsend, Newcastle on April 7, and died in hospital three days later. (Image: NORTHUMBRIA POLICE) Ahead of his funeral on Saturday (May 10) hoards of fellow bikers followed his funeral cortege through Northumberland to South Shields crematorium.

(Image: PA) She said: "Chris was a proper family man who would do anything for his kids, they were his main priority. "We'd been together for 20 years and everyone who knew Chris and I, knew how close we were.
We really were the real deal. "You don't often get relationships like ours and I think that's struck a lot of people because they knew how in love we were. (Image: PA)

He was the life and soul of the party." She added: "My brother worked with Chris and was the first on the scene because he was travelling just behind him in the car. "When I got the call from my brother, I knew that something that happened to Chris and my heart just sank.

(Image: PA) "Chris was a very experienced rider - he had ridden bikes since he was around seven years old. You'd never expect something like this to happen to someone who's so experienced.

Officers previously appealed for witnesses to come forward to assist them.
Northumbria Police has been contacted for an update on their investigation.
