Family pays tribute to ‘popular’ man, 20, who died in horror crash
A man in his 20s who died after being struck by a car in Cumbria[1] has been named by police. Cain Pears was killed in an incident[2] involving a red Ford Fiesta happened at around 3.20am on the A595 between Whitehaven[3] and Workington[4]. The crash occurred this morning (Monday, May 26) when 20-year-old Cain was declared dead at the scene.
The family of Cain, from Ellerbeck Lane Workington, have paid tribute to him in the wake of his passing. In a statement, his family said: "Cain was such a popular lad and had the whole world at his feet and was carving out a wonderful future ahead of him. The world is a darker place without his smile and infectious laugh.
"Cain was a talented footballer and training to be quantity surveyor and loving it. He loved his friends, his girlfriend, and his family so dearly and we him. ADVERTISEMENT
