Live M4 and A4232 delays as crashes cause long delays

An three-vehicle accident blocked a main route out of Cardiff on what is due to be one of the busiest days on the roads. The A4232 was blocked outbound from the Leckwith Interchange to Culverhouse Cross on Friday afternoon. Congestion was back to Ferry Road and delays were more than 30 minutes and it remains busy after all lanes reopened.

An accident has also blocked part of the A44 in Powys. It is closed from the A470 at Llangurig to Ponterwyd so is affecting traffic between Llangurig and Aberystwyth. Diversion - for traffic on the A470 Aberystwyth bound to use the A489 via Machynlleth.

Earlier, a broken down caravan caused long delays on the M4 ahead of the bank holiday weekend. One lane was closed eastbound carriageway between junction 25 Caerleon and junction 24 Coldra. It comes as people are expected to make their getaway for the long bank holiday.
