Locations of 20mph mobile speed cameras in North Wales for May 2025
This year is due to be one of change for the controversial 20mph default limit in Wales. It was introduced back in September 2023 and has reduced road collisions, injuries and deaths according the first year of police statistics.[1] But it remains widely unpopular with a rising number of speeding fines and concerns over it slowing down the economy.
This led to a major review of 'exception' roads where the limit stays at 30mph. Local authorities across Wales are now looking to increase the number of exception roads with Welsh Government hoping this will quell dissent while maintaining the lower accident statistics. But enforcement of the limit continues with the threshold for penalty points and a fine at 26mph and above.[2]
Go Safe publishes a map each month of where it is currently placing mobile speed enforcement. List of the 20mph roads where mobile Go Safe cameras will be this month. Anglesey
