M4 crash live updates as motorway shut in both directions
There was heavy congestion on a section of the M4 in south Wales on Monday morning after a horsebox overturned. All traffic was being held between junction 48 and the Pont Abraham roundabout in Carmarthenshire. Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that a pick-up truck towing a trailer carrying animals was involved in the collision.
No injuries were reported, and the animals were safely moved to another trailer. The collision happened at around 10.30am and both sides of the M4 were closed for around an hour. A spokesperson for Dyfed-Poyws Police said: "Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the M4 westbound just before the Pont Abraham roundabout.
"The collision was reported at around 10.30 and involved a pick-up towing a trailer. No injuries were reported, and the animals were moved safely to another trailer." You can follow live updates below.
