M6 traffic: THREE lanes shut after trailer overturns

Drivers were warned to expect disruption on the M6 after a trailer overturned on the road. Three lanes of traffic were closed this morning (May 25) on the northbound carriageway in Wigan, between junctions 25 at Bryn and 26 for the M58 Orrell Interchange. Traffic cameras from National Highways showed a vehicle on its side in the outside lane, close to the central reservation.

Two lanes of traffic were closed off by cones earlier this morning and highways officers can be seen in attendance. A third lane of traffic was later closed past the crash scene, while firefighters worked in the area. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Just after 8am this morning (Sunday, May 25), firefighters were called to reports of an overturned van and trailer on the M6 between junctions 25 and 26.
