The family of a dad who died in a crash on the M53[1] have paid tribute to him. Emergency services were called to M53 near to junction 6 for the Eastham interchange at around 8.15am on Thursday, May 8.
It followed a report a white Peugeot van had been involved in a crash with a red VW car near to the Eastham exit of the M53.[2] A 49-year-old man, from Wirral[3], was treated for his injuries at the scene[4] and was taken to hospital but later died.
The man has now been named as Kevin Rylance. His family have since paid tribute to the dad, who they described as a "loving" and "caring" man.
In a tribute, they said: "A loving husband and the best dad two kids could've ever asked for.
A hardworking, caring man and everyone who has ever met him will miss him dearly. We will miss you forever."
Merseyside Police[5] confirmed the driver of the car stopped at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the crash.

?Inspector Ian Cowell of Merseyside Police's roads policing previously said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family at this sad time and they are being supported by specialist officers.
"It is now a priority for us to get answers for them about how the collision occurred and my team are working to establish key facts.
"This collision happened on a busy part of the motorway network. Early enquiries show there were a number of vehicles in the area at that time, and I believe it may have been witnessed by members of the public or have been captured on dash cameras.
"I would appeal directly to anyone who saw anything and who has yet to speak with my team to please get in touch."
