One in hospital after HGV smash on A19 near Wynyard

Emergency services were called to the southbound stretch of the major road[1], near Wolviston and Wynyard, after a crash on Tuesday at around 1pm. The crash involved two vehicles - a Ford Luton van and a HGV - and sparked severe delays along the route as well as other nearby roads. The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) has confirmed that one person was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, for further treatment.

Their current condition remains unknown. The A19 was partially blocked as a result of the crash, and was down to one lane to allow for the HGV to be recovered around 2.15pm. Cleveland Police said: "We're currently dealing with a multi-vehicle RTC on the A19 southbound between the A689 at Wolviston and the A1027 at Norton.
