Paramedics treat three patients after two-vehicle A-road crash

Paramedics treated three patients following a two-vehicle crash on a Staffordshire road. Police and firefighters were also sent to the scene of the collision close to Amerton Farm in Stowe-by-Chartley this morning (May 20). The A518 was closed in both directions[1] from around 10.30am following the smash between a van and a car.

A woman and two men were assessed at the scene but did not need hospital treatment. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 10.30am to a road traffic collision involving a car and a van on Amerton Road in Stowe-by-Chartley. One ambulance attended the scene.

Upon arrival we found three patients, a woman who was the driver of the car and two men who were the driver and passenger in the van. All three were assessed and received self care advice before being discharged at the scene." A Staffordshire Police[2] spokesman said: "We were called to Amerton Road in Amington, Stafford, at 10.15am this morning following reports of a collision involving two vehicles.

Officers went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Recovery was arranged and the road was re-opened by 1.40pm."
