Police probe M53 collision as man, 49, dies after crash

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a man died following a collision on the M53. Emergency services had descended on Junction 6 at the Wirral[1] yesterday morning following reports of a crash between a van and a car. Merseyside Police say a 49-year-old man, from the Wirral, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital - but sadly passed away.

Now officers are appealing for motorists to come forward as cops look to 'establish key facts' over the collision between a white Peugeot van and a red Volkswagen car. Meanwhile the force say a 64-year-old man from the Wirral remained at the scene and 'helped officers with their enquiries'. ADVERTISEMENT
