Speeding Tesla driver jailed for 12 months

Firas Zeinnedine, 46, from Keynsham, who has been jailed for 12 months for causing the death of a mother and daughter on the M4 in Wiltshire. Firas Zeinnedine, 46, from Keynsham, near Bristol, has been jailed for a year after losing control of his Tesla, which led to the death of mother and daughter Cheryl Woods and Sarha Smith.

He was driving at more than 90mph on a wet M4 in Wiltshire when he swerved into a lorry which then hit the victims, who were on the hard shoulder after an earlier minor collision. For the full story, click here[1].

Woman given hospital order for racist stabbing attack

Christina Howell, 37, of Easton[2] in Bristol, was given a hospital order after admitting the manslaughter of Hubert Brown, known as Isaac. It was an unprovoked racist attack, with Howell stabbing the victim while he was sat peacefully on a wall.

Rapist jailed for 10 years

Inderjit Singh Bains, 46, of Heneage Lane, Falfield, was sentenced to 10 and a half years in jail for the attack and rape of a woman in Bristol more than 23 years ago. For the full story, click here[4].

Prison drug smugglers jailed

Two men were jailed for their involvement in smuggling drugs into HMP Bristol. Kyle Joyner, already serving time at the prison, arranged for drugs to be brought in by Casey Collins.

Police found a package containing nearly 54g of cocaine, spice and tobacco.

Joyner was given a three-year jail sentence to run consecutively, while Collins, of Knowle[5], was sentenced for two years and four months, plus a further 12 months. For more details on the story, click here[6].

Abuser jailed for 18 years for attempted murder

Nathaniel Downer was jailed for 18 years after stabbing his partner and two other people following a row over a lottery ticket in South Bristol in November 2023. He will also serve an additional four years on licence, while the judge issued him a restraining order to protect his three victims.

Drug dealer jailed for 19 years after manhunt

Christopher Barbosa, 32, previously of Sea Mills in Bristol, handed a 19-year prison sentence for his part in a major drug operation in the south west.

He had fled and travelled across Europe before being detained in Paris, where he spent a year in custody.
