Two arrested after serious Surrey M25 crash that will leave motorway closed for hours
Two people have been arrested after a collision on the M25[1] that has caused serious disruption. Officers from Surrey Police[2] were called to the M25 at 3.46am on Wednesday Morning (May 14) following a collision between an HGV and a road sweeper[3] between J6 (Godstone) and J5 ( M26) anticlockwise. A man aged 30 and a woman aged 25 have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving without due care.
An Air Ambulance[4] was called to the scene and a man has been rushed to hospital, by road, with serious injuries. The M25 is currently closed on the B carriageway (anticlockwise) between J6 and J5. These closures are likely to remain in place for several hours.
Motorists have been urged to use alternative routes where possible, and a diversion route[5] has been put in place. Officers are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured all or part of this incident.
