Woman seriously injured in HGV crash on M62 with huge closure put in place
A 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cocaine, police said

A woman was seriously injured in a horror crash involving a HGV on the M62.[1] Emergency services put a huge closure in place on the busy motorway after the lorry was involved in a collision with a car.
The crash was reported at around 1.10pm on May 2, between junctions 18 and 19, close to Birch services. The driver of the car, a woman in her 60s, was rushed to hospital from the scene with serious injuries which are not life-threatening.
A 60-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and testing positive for driving whilst under the influence of cocaine. He has since been bailed, police confirmed.

Closures remained in place for a number of hours following the crash, with traffic cameras showing drivers caught in the closure out of their vehicles.
Motorists were also warned to avoid the area.

Officers from GMP's Serious Collision Unit are now appealing for information amid ongoing investigations, and are urging any witnesses to get in touch.
A force spokesperson said: "At around 1.10pm on Friday 2 May, a heavy goods vehicle collided with a car, between junction 18 and 19, close to Birch services.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 60s, received serious injuries which thankfully were not life-threatening.
"A 60-year-old man was subsequently arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and testing positive for driving whilst under the influence of cocaine.
