Woman taken to hospital after car rolls onto its roof in M1 crash

A collision on the M1[1] this morning left a car on its roof and led to all southbound traffic being halted[2]. The crash happened between junction 23, the exit for Loughborough, and junction 22 near Markfield at about 9.45am. A woman was helped out of the overturned car following the crash, which also invovled a lorry.

She was not badly hurt but was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary as a precaution. Drivers on the motorway were being urged to remain patient as National Highways said they were working to get traffic moving again as soon as possible. The road re-opened at about 11.10am.
