A woman is being treated in hospital for serious injuries after a crash on the M6, police have confirmed. Emergency services were called to a crash between a lorry and a van on the M6 between junction 31A and 32 just before 6am this morning (15 May). A full northbound closure was put in place as a result which has now partially lifted. Traffic England is warning of delays until around midday.[7]

A spokesperson for police said: "At 5:42am today (Thursday 15th May) we were called to reports of a collision between a van and a lorry on the M6 northbound between Junction 31A and 32, near Preston. "Emergency services attended and a woman in her 40s was taken to hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries. "The motorway was closed for a period, northbound between Junction 31A and 32.
