A1 Brampton services crash live: Road closed as police warn drivers to ‘avoid area’

A roundabout on a major Cambridgeshire[1] A-road has reopened after a crash on Friday (June 13). Emergency services were called to the crash on the roundabout of Brampton services on the A1 just before 11.30am. The crash involved a lorry and car[2].

Cambridgeshire Police, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue, and the East of England Ambulance Service all attended the incident. The road has now reopened and traffic has returned to normal. Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "A141 re-opened, traffic returned to normal, accident cleared at the A1 (Brampton Hut)."

Officers warned drivers to "avoid the area" as the whole roundabout had to be closed. Cambridgeshire Police posted earlier on social media about the incident. A spokesperson said: "Please be aware we are dealing with a road traffic collision on the roundabout for Brampton Services on the A1/A14/A141.

The entire roundabout will be closed at this time and we cannot advise when this will re-open at this time. Please avoid the area." Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and the East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
