A13 multi-vehicle crash: man rushed to Basildon Hospital

The A13 between Orsett and Stanford-le-Hope remains closed following the crash with no update on when it will reopen, however East of England Ambulance and Essex Police confirmed there were no serious injuries after the crash and are optimistic the road will reopen soon. An adult man involved in the crash between a car and a van was taken to Basildon Hospital for further assessment. A spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called just after 2.30pm to a road traffic collision on the A13 near Orsett.

An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene. An adult man was transported to Basildon University Hospital for further assessment and treatment." Queues continue to build on the busy link road, with the carriageway remaining temporarily closeed while emergency services clear the scene.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We were called to reports of a collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A13, close to Stanford-le-Hope, at about 2.15pm today, Monday June 23. "At the scene it was reported a car and a van had been involved in a collision. "We have temporarily closed the carriageway and one lane of the westbound carriageway while we make the scene safe.

"There are no reports of serious injuries."
