A338 Tidworth crash: Arrests after high-speed police chase

Two men have been arrested after a high-speed police chase in Wiltshire saw one member of the public hit. The incident, which took place on Tuesday, June 10, saw a car travelling at high speeds on Range Road, between Bulford and Tidworth in Wiltshire. The driver of the car allegedly failed to stop for police and the vehicle was pursued.

The police chase came to an abrupt end when the speeding vehicle crashed into a van and then an unmarked police vehicle on the A338 near Tidworth Cemetery. Thankfully, the member of the public who was injured in the crash only sustained minor injuries. A stinger was deployed to deflate the vehicle's tyres and two occupants of the car were initially taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "The driver, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drink driving, aggravated taking a vehicle without consent, driving while disqualified and possession with intent to supply class A drugs. "The front seat passenger, a 31-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated taking a vehicle without consent and possession with intent to supply class A drugs."

Both suspects now remain in police custody.
