A50 shut for 11 hours as cranes brought in to recover crashed truck

Two cranes had to be brought in to recover a crashed lorry that shut the A50 for around 11 hours. Emergency services had been called to the eastbound stretch between Uttoxeter and Sudbury last night. As reported by StokeonTrentLive[1], National Highways told motorists how the lorry had left the carriageway and overturned.

Now Derbyshire Constabulary have issued a statement on the incident - and say no action will be taken against the trucker. The collision occurred at around 10.10pm last night - with the road remaining closed until just after 9.15am this morning. It came at a time where works are being carried out on the A50 at the River Dove.
