A82 reopened after over nine hours following motorbike and van crash on Loch Ness road just south of Inverness

A crash between a motorbike and a van kept the A82 last night closed for over nine hours. Police investigating the accident closed the route in both directions between Inverness and Drumnadrochit.[1]

It is not yet known if there were any casualties in the collision, which happened late yesterday afternoon at an accident black spot near Lochend on the busy Loch Ness-side road. Police Scotlan[2]d and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for details.

The accident was reported at around 4.30pm, with the road fully re-opened before 1.30 am, according to Traffic Scotland A police spokesman said this morning: "The A82 has reopened between Drumnadrochit and Inverness following a crash involving a campervan and a motorbike around 4.30pm on Thursday, 19 June, 2025. "Motorists are thanked for their patience."
