Air ambulance called to Ilkeston after collision involving young boy and truck

Police[1] have explained why a busy Derbyshire [2]road was blocked for almost three hours, causing an air ambulance to be called to the scene. On Tuesday (June 17), both the traffic[3] monitoring service Inrix and bus firm Trentbarton [4]confirmed that the A6096 Little Hallam Hill in Ilkeston was blocked due to a serious collision. Trentbarton reported a collision near the former Bulls Head pub[5] roundabout in the town, adding that travellers could expect delays to the Ilkeston Flyer and The 31 services.

Inrix reported that an accident was "partially blocking the road" causing slow traffic in the area. Now, a Derbyshire police spokesperson has said that the road was closed due to a collision involving a truck and a child. ADVERTISEMENT
