Banbury: More tributes pour in for 22-year-old motorcyclist

Telmo Rijo died after his Honda CBR 650 was involved in a crash with a HGV with a trailer on the A361 South Newington Road south of Bloxham, between Bloxham Road and New Road, at around 1.45pm on Friday, June 20. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. A book of condolence launched by this newspaper has now been signed by 28 people at the time of writing which includes friends and family.

Antonino Storniolo said: "From the moment I met you in 2020 you welcomed me into your family and made me feel at ease with everything and everyone. "Your jokes and humour were my favourite things about you. Even when someone was sad or moody you'd make a joke and they'd be instantly fine.

"You were a pure and innocent soul who was full of life. Rest easy brother I will always cherish our memories." Friend Shanice Merry-Taylor added: "Telmo was one of the first friends I had from Year 7.

"I remember all of the memories we had in school. I'm speechless to hear the news. It came as such a shock.

"He was such a loving and caring soul. You were taken from this world far too soon. You would have been an amazing dad to your little boy.

"Rest in paradise Telmo. You will be so sorely missed by many. Sending my love to all his family."

"I remember so well when I was four years old and I thought you were annoying. "I wish we could go back to that time. You will always be in my heart.

Until we meet again." Long-term friend Rita Machado added: "I've known Telmo since we were babies. We grew up together as our dads are best friends.

I can't even begin to describe the hurt that I feel. I can't believe how life can be so cruel. "I have so many fond memories from sleepovers to us playing on his Xbox together, having late night snacks, playing outside, all the Christmases and birthdays we shared together.

It truly feels like losing a brother. That's what he was to me. "It hurts even more knowing how he was building a life, taking the next steps, and he won't get to live the life he was planning.

"Rest in peace little brother.

I love you so much and we will see each other again one day."
