Birmingham hit-and-run driver hunted after collision which left girl with serious injuries

A hit-and-run driver is being hunted by police after a teenage girl suffered serious injuries.

Emergency services rushed to Oldknow Road in Small Heath[1] at 3pm, yesterday, Wednesday, June 25.

It was thought the vehicle hit railings and the pedestrian before the car was driven off.

Police said a 17-year-old girl suffered serious injuries.

She was taken to hospital for further treatment.

No arrests have been made and police inquiries continue.

An ambulance service spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: "We were called to reports of a crash on Oldknow Road in Small Heath at 3.01pm.

"We sent an ambulance, a HART paramedic and a critical care paramedic to the scene.

"On arrival, crews found a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision.

"The pedestrian, a girl, was treated by ambulance staff for serious injuries before being conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital[7]."
