Driver fined more than £100 for speeding at 61mph on M27
Michael Jacques, of Primrose Hill, Wallingford in Oxford, was caught exceeding a variable speed limit on the M27 in Hampshire by an automatic camera device on November 27, 2023. The 57-year-old was driving a Volkswagen travelling westbound between junctions eight and seven of the M27, near Hedge End, when he was caught. He was travelling 61mph in the variable 50mph zone. Jacques appeared in Southampton Magistrates' Court on June 12 of this year. This was a year-and-a-half on from the offence, and he entered a guilty plea.
He was fined ?100 and handed three penalty points on his licence.
He was also ordered to pay costs of ?130 and a surcharge of ?40.
