‘Loveable rogue’ dad-of-three who ‘loved life’ killed in horror M6 crash

The family of a dad who was killed in a horror collision on the M6 have paid a heartbreaking tribute to him, saying he 'loved life' and describing him as a 'loveable rogue with the heart of a lion'.

Emergency services were called to the motorway after a pedestrian, aged in his 30s, was hit by an Audi Q7 on Saturday evening (March 31) between junctions 33 and 34.

The pedestrian has now been named as Christopher Condliffe, aged 30, from the Stoke-on-Trent area. The dad-of-three was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

The motorway for closed[2] for around nine hours while an investigation took place. Lancashire Police said the driver of the vehicle involved was 'shocked but physically unhurt'.

Paying tribute to Christopher, his loved ones said he 'lived life to the max' and 'battled demons behind his gorgeous, infectious smile'.

A statement released by his family said: "Our Chris, my boy, had the most gorgeous smile - everyone always remembers his smile.

He battled demons behind that gorgeous, infectious smile, no one knows what another person is going through.

"He loved his children David, Kelsey and Lori, more than anything. He loved life and lived it to the max.

"His love and loyalty for his family and friends was immense. Once you were his friend you were family.

His love for his friends were so strong. A loveable rogue with the heart of a lion.

"We love him so much and are devastated at losing him. No parent should never have to bury[3] their child.

Heartbroken beyond words. We love you so very much our boy. Forever love, Mum, Dad, Chloe and Cain."

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward amid ongoing investigations into the collision.
