M25 Brentwood crash: Three in hospital after HGV rolls over

The police were called at 2.20pm yesterday (June 17) to the crash on the anticlockwise carriageway junction 28 near Brentwood. Officers attended along with the London and Essex fire and ambulance services and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance. Three men, 32, 48 and 52 were taken to hospital for treatment.

Their injuries have been assessed as neither life-threatening nor changing. There have been no arrests. The M25 was closed in both directions as the air ambulance landed and the crash was cleared.

Anticlockwise queues stretched all the way to the Dartford Crossing, over 10 miles away to the south. A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 14:20hrs on Tuesday, 17 June following reports of a road traffic collision involving four vehicles on the M25, junction 28, near Brentwood. "Met officers and emergency services covering London and Essex attended.

"Three men, aged 32, 48 and 52-years-old respectively, suffered injuries which have not been assessed as life-changing or life-threatening. "The M25 was closed in both directions while emergency services were on the scene and has since reopened. "No arrests have been made."

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 2.15pm to a road traffic collision on the anti-clockwise M25 between junctions 29 and 28. (Image: Gabriel Wolf) "An ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. "Two patients were transported by road to Basildon University Hospital, while another was taken to Queen's Hospital, also by road."

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "We were called at 1426 today to reports of a road traffic collision on the anticlockwise carriageway of the M25 between junctions 29 and 28. "Four vehicles were involved, including a lorry that overturned. "No one was confirmed to be trapped.

"We sent one fire engine and one fire rescue unit to the scene, and were supported by Essex County Fire & Rescue Service."
