M25 junction 28 crash: Three in hospital and one rescued
Emergency services were called to the anticlockwise carriageway between junctions 29 and 28 at 2.15pm today (June 17). Paramedics rushed to the scene while an air ambulance landed on the opposite side of the motorway. Three people were treated, with one being rescued by the fire service.
They were all taken to hospital - two to Basildon University Hospital, and one to Queen's Hospital. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 2.15pm to a road traffic collision on the anti-clockwise M25 between junctions 29 and 28. "Three ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
Two patients were transported by road to Basildon University Hospital, while another was taken to Queen's Hospital, also by road." An Essex Fire Service spokesperson said: "Called to assist at a road traffic collision involving four vehicles. Crews assisted the ambulance service in rescuing one casualty."
An LFB spokesperson said: "We were called at 1426 today to reports of a road traffic collision on the anticlockwise carriageway of the M25 between junctions 29 and 28. "Four vehicles were involved, including a lorry that overturned. "No one was confirmed to be trapped.
"We sent one fire engine and one fire rescue unit to the scene, and were supported by Essex County Fire & Rescue Service."
