M4: Three-car crash on busy junction blocked the A419

The road traffic collision at Junction 15 of the M4 caused congestion on the A419 southbound at around 7am on Monday, June 16. Queues tailed back all the way to the White Hart roundabout for most of the following two hours as traffic slowed to a crawl while the emergency services dealt with the aftermath of the incident. A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We attended J15 of the M4 at about 7am on June 16 following reports of an RTC involving three cars.

"There were no reported injuries and no arrests." By 8.45am, the road had been cleared of the vehicles involved and any debris, so traffic could resume flowing as normal. Recommended reading

This is the latest of several accidents to occur on this roundabout. A collision happened in the same area on May 14 at around 6.30am and again caused congestion and traffic issues during the morning rush hour on the A419 and the M4 itself.

In March, firefighters rescued a lorry driver who became trapped in his vehicle after it left the road at Junction 15 and travelled down a grass verge.
