M5 drivers face 90 minute delays after caravan jackknifes
Drivers are caught in delays of more than an hour on the M5 in Gloucestershire after a crash involving a caravan this afternoon. The collision, in which a van pulling a caravan jackknifed, happened between junctions 14 and 13 on the northbound carriageway just before 1pm today (June 11). Gloucestershire Police said no-one is believed to have been seriously injured but two lanes remain closed while recovery is in progress.
As a result, huge delays have formed on the M5. National Highways reports delays of around an hour and a half: "There are currently delays of 1 and a half hours against expected traffic." Traffic maps show congestion between the two junctions.
Drivers are being advised to take alternate routes. Gloucestershire Police said: "Two lanes of the M5 northbound are currently closed between junction 14 and junction 13 after a report that a van pulling a caravan had jackknifed. "Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured.
Emergency services are at the scene and motorists are advised to find alternative routes."
