M5 speed camera catches Mercedes driver breaking 50mph limit near Worcester

Steve McSherry, 66, of Lodge Lane, Saughall, Chester, was snapped by a speed camera while driving along the M5 southbound between J7 (Worcester) and J8 (M50) in Worcestershire on March 19, 2024. At the time of the incident, a speed restriction had been placed on the motorway, limiting speeds to 50mph. He appeared at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (June 18), where he admitted to the charge.

McSherry was fined GBP276 and given three penalty points on his licence.

He was also ordered to pay GBP260 in costs and a GBP221 surcharge to the Crown Prosecution Service by July 16.
