M6 delays near Charnock Richard Services as van overturns

A crash involving an overturned van is causing major delays on the M6 to the south of Preston during Wednesday (25 June) morning. Emergency services are at the scene close to Charnock Richard services. National Highways North West has traffic held on the M6 northbound while they work at the scene.

As of 7.45am all traffic was released but delays remain. The crash took place shortly before 7am on Wednesday and involves multiple cars as well as the van which is in the central reservation. Traffic England is reporting delays of more than an hour on the M6 northbound and the M6 southbound is also seeing delays of up to 15 minutes past the scene.

Delays on the northbound side are back to Junction 26 for the M58 while on the southbound side there's delays starting from Junction 28. A police spokesperson confirmed to Blog Preston there were minor injuries to those involved in a collision between a van and a car.
