M62 live updates after lorry crash causes ‘severe delays’

There are "severe delays" on the M62 after a lorry reportedly crashed into a barrier. The crash is understood to have happened at around 4.30am on Friday, June 13 at junction 9 of the motorway near Newton Road (Winwick). The motorway is closed in both directions and congestion is reaching to junction 7 (Rainhill stoops) heading eastbound.

Queues are also backed up to junction 10 (Croft Interchange) heading westbound. According to traffic management system, a lorry hit a barrier and leaked fuel onto the M62 below.
