Man injured in van crash on Cambs border

A crash on a roundabout in Royston[1] has left one man injured. The incident involving a van at around 6am on Thursday morning (June 12) took place at the roundabout near Royston's Tesco[2] Extra, which leads to the A505 and A1198. The casualty, a man in his 50s who was riding his bike at the time of the crash, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital with minor injuries.

An East of England Ambulance Service[3] spokesperson said: "An ambulance and a Hazardous Area Response Vehicle were sent to the A505 near Royston this morning following reports that a cyclist had been injured in a road traffic collision. One adult male was transported to Addenbrookes Hospital for further assessment and care." The roundabout was partially closed on Thursday morning, while emergency services attended.

A Hertfordshire[4] Police spokesperson commented: "Police were called at 6.02am today (Thursday 12 June), to report a road traffic[5] collision on the roundabout near to the A505, Royston, involving a white Vauxhall Vivaro van. "Part of the roundabout was closed while emergency services attended, but the closure has now been lifted. "A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital with minor injuries and no arrests have been made."
